When did you start blogging?
I published my first blog post in November 2015 but didn’t start blogging properly until February 2016.
Why did you start blogging?
I started because it was honestly something I had wanted to do for so so long but I had always put excuses down as to why I couldn’t and I just didn’t have the balls too. One of my closest friends (tmaemakeup.blogspot.co.uk) had started a blog and she gave me the confidence to take it seriously and just do it!
What are your make up tips?
A good skin care routine, clean bed sheets and clean brushes! I suffer with acne so it’s important that I keep my brushes and bed sheets clean as the bacteria from both theses things can really effect my skin and how my makeup looks on top of it! I deep clean my brushes atlas once a week (if I can remember) and I apply my Pixi Glow Tonic and the Liz Earle Super Skin Moisturiser every night and it’s worked wonders!
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t take life too seriously, this is something I struggle with now but it was even worse when I was younger. I was so uptight and never knew how to have fun and be a normal kid/teenager and I feel as if I missed out on that so I would just say to whoever reading this that life is too short to worry about the small stuff and you should just do what you want, when you want and just have fun with it!
How did you learn to do make up?
When I was younger I was so self conscious of my skin so I taught myself to cover up my scars and blemishes and it’s just gone on from there! It was when I discovered youtube and blogging that I wanted to take it more seriously so I ditched performing arts and picked up some makeup brushes. Its a matter of trial and error with everything and thats what I love about it, you can never fail at it because it’s all about creating art and everyone has their own perception of it!
Are you enjoying university?
I love it! I don’t go to a proper university so I have the joys of living at home and not paying bills but it’s what works well for me! The course I’m studying is so hard like I’ve never experienced anything like it but I’m also quite competitive so I love a challenge. I can understand that uni isn’t for everyone but you shouldn’t let that stop you from choosing another route to achieve your dreams!
Who is your blogging inspiration?
This is such a hard question because I read so so many and I’m also subscribed to over 300 people on youtube (oops). I would say that my main inspiration has to be Jessica from http://www.cocoachelsea.com/ . Her photos are absolutely stunning and her blog layout/content is my idea of perfection!
What are your blogging tips and advice?
I’m only one year in on my blogging journey so I’m still a little clueless when it comes to the technical stuff but I think that it’s so important to socialise with the blogging community and to just put yourself out there. Take part in twitter chats and get to know your piers because they could become great friends! I know I’ve made some amazing friends through blogging and I’m always asking them for help with my blog, the technical stuff can come later.
